Sunshadow is a one-off festival which takes place from 6th to 15th August and is set to celebrate the total solar eclipse which takes place at 11.11am on 11 August 1999. Moving across Cornwall and parts of Devon this once-in-a -lifetime event will throw the west country into partial darkness as the moon's orbit blocks the sun's rays.
The festival is located near the village of Liskeard (about 15 miles outside Plymouth) and organisers are confident that the 10,000 tickets will prove popular. For every ticket sold £1 goes to Sightsavers and £1 goes to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.
'Eclipse Fever' is proving contagious and there are now at least three music festivals scheduled to take place to mark the occasion alongside several other events being organised in the 'West Country'.
