Womad is celebrating its tenth birthday at the Rivermead leisure complex in Reading's city centre and the party is going well.
Sun-kissed festival-goers continued to revel all day in the glorious sunshine and the 2am crowd gathering at the Lunched Out Lizard's Chai Tent were showing the effects of a hard day's partying.
The Whirly-Y-Gig club, which packed the vast sports hall in the lesiure complex, has come to an end and festival-going campers are returning to dust-covered accommodation.
A packed line-up including headliners Afro-Celt Sound System and Angola's Waldemar Bastos picked up the beat and kicked arse on the main stage. Meanwhile the hardcore salsa crew Son Colombia seduced an appreciative audience with their sensual and inspirational rhythms.
Across the site scores of diverse events have served an eclectic audience. Talks by people working with street children in Latin America, cabaret from Kevin Brooking and contemporary Aboriginal dance by Bangarra Dance Theatre have filled the day alongside a whole world of alternative events.
Saturday-only tickets have now sold out and touts are on the prowl - Womad 99 is proving very popular.
